I have been writing ever since I could hold a pencil. I grew up unconventional , I know this because writers are attempting to write books, screenplay writers , and documentary producers call me to tell my story of growing up Hovland I am looking forward to this forum. I am an animated verbal story teller when at my best, I write like I talk. Bonding with other writers excites me. Google Dempsey Hovland and a glimpse of this bigger than life man will appear in websites from Famous people from Wisconsin to print media and blogs from around the world. Writing about my dad, reading about my dad, learning something new about my dad is surreal to me. I knew he was exciting. I knew our family of nine was not like anyone else in our midwest town. I did not realize the historical and social impact he made. He was just a promoter booking agent and my dad to me and my six siblings. The country changed decade by decade in his journey from 1918-1979. I am a causal person. Sticking my foot in to make changes on many social issues. Ok this is getting long. Click.
